The Victorian Government
The Victorian Government is committed to driving Victoria’s zero-emission vehicle boom. As part of this initiative, the Minister for Energy and Resources announced $2.2 million in funding across four projects to develop new charging technologies, including our project to install 100 smart connected EV chargers in homes and businesses across Victoria.

Project Goals and BenefitsOur project will deliver 100 Zappi chargers, which can detect and utilize surplus electricity generated via rooftop solar to charge an electric vehicle. This cutting-edge technology will not only help reduce emissions but also optimize the use of renewable energy in your home or business.
Addressing Grid Challenges
This project will directly address problems associated with adding thousands of EVs to our grid and provide insight into the system impact caused by the mass export of rooftop solar onto electricity networks.
Optimized Solar Utilization
We achieve this by minimizing the electricity that is exported back to the grid, by orchestrating charging times, rates, durations, and volumes to maximize self-consumption.
Real-Time Monitoring
Our technology constantly monitors the amount of electricity generated via rooftop solar and the electricity demand in the home or business. Any surplus solar energy is sent to the EV and potentially other energy-consuming devices, rather than back to the grid.
Centralized Control
All EV chargers can be centrally and programmatically controlled by a single data input, simulating grid events such as times of high or low demand.
Comprehensive Analysis
We will document the performance of the charging pool and provide analysis, helping to easily and comprehensively dismiss any negativity directed towards EVs and charging.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this offer, you must:
• Be a resident or business owner in Victoria.
• Have an EV
• Have an existing rooftop solar system installed at your home or business.
• Agree to participate in the trial and allow data collection for the duration of the project.
