Born and brought up in Grimsby, Lee Sutton and Jordan Brompton, Co-Founders of the highly successful myenergi, are fiercely proud of their roots. So when they heard of the opportunity to help unlock the potential of the next generation in Grimsby through Horizon Youth Zone, they decided to make myenergi a patron and invest.

The myenergi founders were shaped and influenced by the community of Grimsby that they were born and educated in. That’s why they’re passionate about supporting local charities and organisations that are committed to realising the potential of the people within the area.

Unlocking potential in the next generation

Aware of the vast spectrum of career opportunities available within the local renewables industry and having pride in their community, Lee and Jordan want to instil curiosity and adventure in the next generation. The Horizon Youth Zone plans to provide an environment that encourages young people to discover their passion and purpose.

Horizon Youth Zone is on a mission to unlock the potential of the young people of Grimsby with the support of fully trained youth workers and volunteers, who will assist the eight to nineteen year olds engage in over 20 activities. These will include sports, arts, music, media, dance, drama, cooking, employability and enterprise workshops, all designed to develop their passions and interests and to help the young people discover their purpose and build their ambitions.

Next generation facilities

Jordan and Emma Brigginshaw, Head of Sustainability at myenergi, recently visited the state-of-the-art facility under construction in the heart of Grimsby. What was once a derelict area in the centre of town is being transformed into the thriving heartbeat of the area for inspiring young people. This will become home to the Horizon Youth Zone charity who have huge aspirations for the youth of Grimsby.

Investing at the foundations

myenergi are committed to investing in charities and enterprises who are passionate about developing the talents of the local young people and to give back to the community it has benefitted so greatly from. We have pledged to support the development of the new Horizon Youth Zone facility at the Riverhead in Grimsby through becoming a Founder Patron. We are investing in both the construction and ongoing running costs of the project, allowing the dream to become a reality. Through this, we hope to become a part of the development journey of potentially thousands of young people in the area.
