Bottomley Distillers, renowned for its artisan Pin Gin spirit range, has installed two state-of-the-art electric vehicle charging points at its new headquarters in Louth, Lincolnshire. Committed to sustainability, the company prides itself on ethical sourcing and environmentally-friendly operation.
The zappi chargers, manufactured by fellow Lincolnshire business myenergi, will provide low-carbon vehicle charging for guests touring the visitor centre. The only device on the market capable of utilising 100% green energy, surplus electricity generated by the distillery’s solar panels will be redirected to power visitor’s vehicles.
Installing the zappi chargers is the latest in a long line of sustainability commitments from Bottomley Distillers. With carbon reduction at the heart of operations, the company has committed to achieving a net zero environmental impact.
Amy Conyard, co-founder of Bottomley Distillers, commented:
“Earlier this year, we relocated to a site fourteen times the size of our previous distillery. The new space is perfect for our rapid expansion plans and will house our brand new 5,000 litre still.
“While the new distillery is almost operational, we’re also in the process of creating a visitor centre, which is set to open later this year. Installing the zappi chargers will allow guests to charge their cars when they come to visit. As well as looking great and providing a huge variety of charging modes, they’re the most sustainable charging point on the market – a hugely important element for us.”
Jordan Brompton, co-founder and CMO of myenergi, added: “Lincolnshire is home to some of Britain’s most exciting up-and-coming brands. Like myenergi, Bottomley Distillers and the Pin Gin brand is growing rapidly and we’re excited to watch the company’s continued journey.
“Supplying a pair of zappi chargers will not only provide energy independence, but also future-proof the business. Working in harmony with the facility’s PV panels, our technology will charge EVs with completely free, 100% green energy – the perfect circular economy as the UK transitions towards electrification.”
myenergi is renowned for designing the world’s first solar compatible EV charger – zappi. Alongside operating as standard for electric car charging, it has optional charging modes to utilise 100% green energy generated from your solar PV panels. With a whole host of carefully-designed features to give you complete control of your charging experience, it can be paired with the myenergi app to utilise economy tariffs, deploy the boost function and provide insightful monitoring data.
