- What’s the Compatibility Mode for?
- What are the settings?
- Why won’t my 3-phase Renault Zoe start charging when I’ve got >4.2kW available
1. What’s the Compatibility Mode for?
It’s used to improve compatibility with some EVs that have special requirements on top of the charging standards, eg Renault EVs.
2. What are the settings?
By default, the mode is active, PWM 12% and power factor 0.85. With the latest Renault Zoé ZE50, the power factor may need to be increased to 0.95.
3. Why won’t my 3-phase Renault Zoe start charging when I’ve got >4.2kW available
This is because of a limitation of the charging standard, which set the minimum charging rate to 6A per phase, so 6A x 230V x 3phases = 4.2kW of charge.
The Renault Zoe is a bit different and won’t start charging on three phases until there is closer to 7kW spare.
